The Endless Winter
With over 2 decades of experience in the Andes The Endless Winter is a CASA Tours speciality!  – We combine 2 of Chile’s best ski resorts Nevados de Chillan and Corralco for a 9 day snow adventure through the wild landscapes of Chile’s Lakes and Volcanoes region.

Whether you are getting ready for the upcoming winter, needing your snow fix after a long summer or just love spring skiing/snowboarding, CASA Tours’ Endless Winter is a fantastic snow adventure to Chile’s biggest volcano mountain playgrounds. Spring skiing in the Andes on the slopes of Nevados de Chillan and Corralco offer big descents, playful lunaresque terrain, and lots of snow to harvest.

This trip is a complete skiing and snowboarding tour of Chile, a chance to experience the flavor and beauty of the country, including hot springs, active volcanoes, wine tasting, local markets, ancient Monkey Puzzle forests, soaring condors, vast landscapes, authentic Chilean cuisine, and a lot of time on the snow.

Visiting Chile’s renowned Lake & Volcano Region is an adventure to remote mountain villages, river valleys and wild volcanoes that dominate the landscape and provide expansive terrain, including massive bowls and snow filled lava tubes. Both Nevados de Chillan and Corralco feature excellent back country touring accessed via their lift infrastructures.  A spring time favorite for locals and international ski teams alike, these mountain playgrounds offer the most reliable late season snow pack.

Bask under the Andean sun, harvest the rewards of a spring storm, and gaze at the Southern Cross on our Endless Winter journey into the belly of Chile’s Ring of Fire.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 – Travel to Las Trancas – Ski/Ride Nevados de Chillan

After gathering guests at their Santiago hotels we journey south to the powder capital of Chile, Nevados de Chillan. En route we stop at the Miguel Torres winery for a 4 course lunch and wine pairing before continuing to the ski pueblo of Las Trancas.  We spend 4 nights in this magical forested valley, where huge storms are known to settle in!

Days 2-4 – Ski/Ride Nevados de Chillan

For the next 3 full days we explore one of Chile’s most epic ski resorts, Nevados de Chillan. Chillan is a relatively ‘undiscovered’ snow paradise offering big descents, a lunar-like landscape with many ski touring opportunities, and some of the most consistent snow in the Andes . All types of terrain from long groomed slopes and the gentle ‘Tres Marias’ lava tubes to adventurous steeps in the Pirigallo Valley and steaming summits of the Chillan volcanoes satisfies a wide variety of adventure appetites. Our evenings are spent celebrating in true Chilean hospitality with a variety of locally owned restaurants in one of the most authentic ski villages in Chile, Las Trancas.

Day 5 – Travel to Malacahuello

After lunch and visiting the extraordinary Chillan market, one of the country’s largest farmers markets, we continue further south into Chile’s volcanic ring of fire to the quaint village of Malacahuello. Located at the base of Volcan Lonquimay and amongst stands of ancient Araucaria trees is Corralco Mountain Resort. Offering wide-open volcanic slopes and plenty of touring opportunities we spend 3 days enjoying this off the beaten track Chilean gem.  We compliment our days on the mountain enjoying hot springs soaks and more authentic Chilean hospitality in Malacahuello.

Days 6-8 – Ski/Ride – Corralco – Volcan Lonquimay

Situated on Volcan Lonquimay, Corralco is an expansive mountain playground.  The newly installed Cumbre lift accesses 3000 foot/ 1000 meter descents and wide open volcanic bowls.  With stunning views of the surrounding volcanoes Llaima, Villarrica, and Lanin, Corralco lies deep in the belly of Chile’s Ring of Fire.  Surrounded by Conquillo National Park and its famous monkey puzzle forests, Corralco offers the sublime beauty of these ancient native groves of Chile’s national tree with the massive volcanic landscape of Volcan Lonquimay.  With the addition of the new lift infrastructure and excellent spring time corn harvesting, Corralco is the perfect destination for our “Endless Winter.”

Day 9 – Departure – Return to Santiago

Hasta Luego Malacahuello! Today we return through the Rio Curacautin Valley and transfer to the city of Temuco for our domestic flight back to Santiago International airport in time for evening return flights home.
