The Endless Winter
The Endless Winter is CASA Tours’ original itinerary – with over a decade of running this trip, we’ve got it dialed. For fifteen days, this adventure takes you all the way from Santiago to the winter playgrounds of Antillanca and Las Trancas, from the high Andes to the Southern Volcanoes of Chile.

This trip is a complete skiing and snowboarding tour of Chile, a chance to experience the flavor and beauty of the country, including hot springs, active volcanoes, wine tasting, waterfalls, cowboys, fine dining, big city nightlife, beautiful landscapes, and a lot of time on the slopes.

You will come away from this trip with an intimate knowledge of the culture and landscapes of Chile, from the large capital city of Santiago to small, remote mountain villages and wild National Parks. And, you will have ample time to explore the on-piste and backcountry terrain of La Parva, El Colorado, Valle Nevado, Antillanca/Volcan Casablanca, and Nevados de Chillan.

Volcano summit attempts are possible in Antillanca, Lonquimay and Nevados de Chillan with the right weather conditions, allowing you a taste of guided ski-mountaineering on very accessible, but still very wild volcanoes.

Join us for an Endless Winter in the Andes…

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive Santiago – City Tour

Arrive at Santiago International airport where your CASA guides will arrange transportation to your Santiago hotel. After dropping your bags and having breakfast your guides will show you the city and its most famous sites. Tonight we will have a welcome dinner and trip orientation at a neighborhood restaurant.

Days 2-4 – Ski/Ride Valle Nevado / La Parva / El Colorado

We leave Santiago and transfer up to the mountain village of Farellones and the Tres Valles ski complexes of La Parva, El Colorado and Valle Nevado and hit the slopes for the afternoon before settling into our cozy Andean lodge for the next 2 nights.

Surrounded by massive Andean peaks, Valle Nevado, La Parva and El Colorado offer expansive terrain options from in bounds cruisers and open bowls to some of Chile’s premier lift-accessed backcountry, including private shuttles on Santa Teresa. After skiing on day 4 we head back to Santiago and an evening enjoying the vibrant Chilean capital city and our favorite local restaurants and nightlife.

Day 5 – Travel to Nevados de Chillan

This morning we journey south to the powder capital of Chile, Nevados de Chillan. En route we stop at the Miguel Torres winery for a 4 course lunch and wine pairing. The party continues to the ski pueblo of Las Trancas where we spend 4 nights in this forested magical valley, where huge storms are known to settle in!

Days 6-8 Ski/Ride Nevados de Chillan

For 3 full days we explore our favorite ski resort in Chile, Nevados de Chillan. The resort offers thousands of vertical feet to descend; a lunar-like landscape including 3 volcanic peaks; and continues to be a relatively ‘undiscovered’ snow paradise. Nevados features everything from long groomed slopes and the gentle Tres Marias lava tubes to adventurous steeps in the Pirigallo Valley and steaming summits of the Chillan volcanoes. Our evenings are spent celebrating our day in true Chilean style.

Days 9-11 Ski/Ride Antillanca

Located deep in the heart of Chile’s lake and volcano region, Antillanca is tucked in on the slopes of Volcan Casablanca.  A truly off the beaten track ski and snowboard center, Antillanca is a retreat into the forest and offers excellent access volcanic slopes and great spring skiing.  We will spend a couple of nights at the lodge at the base of Antillanca and soak in the thermal hot springs just down the road.

Days 12-14 Ski/Ride Corralco – Volcan Lonquimay

We continue traveling through Chile’s volcanic ring of fire returning north to the slopes of Corralco. Located at the base of Volcan Lonquimay and amongst stands of ancient Dr Seuss like monkey-puzzle trees lays Corralco. Offering wide-open volcanic slopes and plenty of touring opportunities we spend 2 days enjoying this off the beaten track Chilean gem. Hot springs, home cooked meals, fine red wine and a warm fire finish our days.

Day 15 – Departure – Return to Santiago

We say goodbye to Pucon and transfer to the city of Temuco for our flight back to Santiago International airport in time for evening return flights home.
