The High Andes Adventure allows skiers and riders the opportunity to conveniently explore 5 resorts including Portillo, Valle Nevado, La Parva, El Colorado and Ski Arpa in 7 days. This trip is geared for more advanced and expert skiers and riders and provides the opportunity to hit some of South America’s most classic descents. Not feeling like going large, that is fine, the resorts we visit offer thousands of acres of inbounds terrain to play in. We spend 3 nights in the Aconcagua Valley, home to some of Chile’s finest wineries and vineyards, and 3 nights in the tranquil hamlet of Farellones, base camp for the Tres Valles and the high peaks of the Andes.
Join us this summer for a high adventure in the Andes!
CASA guides will arrange morning pick ups for guests at their Santiago hotel before heading up to Tres Valles to hit the slopes of La Parva and settling into our lodge in Farrellones for the next 3 nights.
Depending on conditions guides will recommend which area to ski over the next 3 days. Surrounded by massive Andean peaks, Tres Valles offers vast terrain options from in bounds cruisers and open bowls to some of Chile’s premier lift-accessed backcountry, including private shuttles on Santa Teresa. After saying good bye to our friends at the Powder Lodge we spend the morning on the slopes before making our way to the Aconcagua Valley and Los Andes, our base for the following 3 nights.
Considered one of the wildest ski resorts on the planet, Valle El Arpa, is an experience not to be missed by snow adventurers. Climbing out of the Aconcagua Valley past stands of Saguro cacti, the road to Arpa is a 4×4 adventure in itself. In 2011 Arpa earned a spot on the Freeskiing World Tour!
Ski legend “Toni” Sponar spotted this remote valley in search of new ski areas in the Andes. With over 5000 acres of terrain, 3000 vertical feet to descend, the most spectacular views of Aconcagua from any resort in the Andes, and skiing with an intimate group make Arpa one of the most memorable destinations to visit on your South American tour.
Today we wind our way up the Rio Blanco Canyon to the border of Chile and Argentina and Portillo. One of the oldest and most recognized ski resorts in South America, Portillo’s legendary Lago de Inca is situated in a big mountain cirque surrounded by massive cliff walls leaving one in awe! Skiers and Riders can experience the Roca Jack, one of the most unique lifts in the world, and access to some of the steepest lift served terrain in the Andes. Portillo is the training grounds and melting pot for many of the world’s greatest ski racers and the birthplace of the Skier’s World Cup.
Guests will be transported to Santiago International Airport or driven to their Santiago hotel. We spend the day exploring the sites of the Aconcagua Valley or the markets of Santiago before saying adios.
